RAMS DROP NAILBITER TO SOUTH CAROLINA, 4-3

DURHAM, N.C. – Virginia Commonwealth University dominated the lower half of the lineup, but that wasn’t enough, as the Rams fell to South Carolina Sunday at the University of North Carolina’s Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center.
VCU slides to 4-3 with the loss, while the Gamecocks improve to 4-1.
Despite a 3-0 deficit, the Rams fought back with victories by juniors Laura Burns and Olena Leonchuk, as well as freshman Mihaela Bunea on the No. 4, 5 and 6 courts, respectively.
VCU returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 7 when it heads to Philadelphia, Pa. to take on Penn at 5 p.m.
