WOMEN’S TENNIS DROPPED BY DENVER

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Junior Olena Leonchuk and freshman Mihaela Bunea were winners Saturday for Virginia Commonwealth University, but Denver walked away with a 5-2 victory in a match at Penn State University.

The Rams slip to 6-4 with the loss. Denver is 4-3.

Leonchuk defeated Kyla Iwinski, 7-5, 6-2 on the No. 5 singles court. Meanwhile, at sixth position, Bunea scored a 1-6, 6-3, 10-6 win over Bhavani Tiruumurti for the Rams.

VCU returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 21 when it hosts Virginia Tech at the Thalhimer Tennis Center at 11 a.m.
