While with the Rams:

Tackling the Injury Bug: In one of her final games at Westfield, Hovanesian suffered an ACL injury, which forced her to spend the 2008 campaign rehabbing and getting back to full strength.

The Apprentice: With a quartet of veteran midfielders ahead of her, Hovanesian did not see any game action but she was able to focus on practice and learn from skilled seniors like Stephanie Power and Francesca Gioeli during her first year with the Rams.

Prior to VCU:

Sounds like a Broken Record: The Westfield girls soccer record book will never look the same after Hovanesian’s career. During her final campaign, she became the school’s all-time leading goal scorer and is tied for the top spot in the assist column.

Going Out with a Bang:  Hovanesian had built up quite a career during her first three years at Westfield, but her final campaign was a memorable one. With a single-season school record of 18 goals, she earned First-Team accolades on the All-District and All-Area squads as well as Second-Team All-Met by the Washington Post.

What a Captain!: Given the duty of being the team captain during her senior season, Hovanesian helped guide the Bulldogs of Westfield to the best record in school history and a berth in the district and regional finals.

Queen of the District: Hovanesian was a four-time member of the All-District squads, including earning First Team accolades during her sophomore, junior and senior seasons.

United as one: Westfield was not the only place Hovanesian starred on the pitch as she was a key member of her club team, RFC United who finished the 2008 season ranked second in the state of Virginia. The squad had 22 players headed to Division I institutions to play women’s soccer.

Fear the Turtle Ram: Being close to the College Park area, Hovanesian drew interest from the University of Maryland, but chose to come south and play for the Black & Gold.
