WHILE WITH THE RAMS:

IMMEDIATE IMPACT: Hurt saw action in 31 games, averaging 12.8 minutes per outing off the bench during her freshman campaign.  She made an immediate impact on the court finishing second on the team with 12 blocks, while registering 25 steals.

COMMANDING THE COLONIAL: After averaging just 2.8 points and 3.4 rebounds in non-conference games, Hurt burst onto the Colonial Athletic Association scene with 5.7 points and 5.2 rebounds per game in conference contests.

POSTSEASON PRESENCE: In 18 minutes of action against Rutgers in the first round of the 2009 NCAA Tournament, Hurt registered two points, five rebounds, a pair of steals and one block.

OUTSTANDING OUTINGS: Hurt tallied a career-high 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting in a key road victory at Towson (Feb. 12, 2009) and followed that performance with a career-high 11 rebounds in a career-best 26 minutes in a home win against James Madison (Feb. 15, 2009).  Hurt notched a career-high eight rebounds and contributed her first blocked shot in just 12 minutes of action against Morgan State (Dec. 15, 2009).


PRIOR TO VCU:

DOMINATING THE HARDWOOD: Hurt produced one of the greatest high school basketball seasons in the state of Georgia.  She averaged 27.3 points, 12.5 rebounds and three blocks per game during her senior campaign at Salem High School in Conyers, Ga.

HIGH SCHOOL HONORS: Following her outstanding senior season, Hurt was a First Team All-State selection and was nominated for Georgia State Player of the Year.

TRAVEL TIME: Hurt played club basketball with AAU national power Georgia Metros, the same club that current VCU teammates D’Andra Moss and Kita Waller played for while in high school.
