ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Freshman Marketa Janeckova (Olomouc, Czech Republic) ripped seven kills for Virginia Commonwealth University, which dropped a 3-0 (25-12, 25-18, 25-14) decision at New Mexico Saturday.

The match concludes VCU’s season. The Rams finish with a 19-13 record, a seven-win improvement over the 2007 season.

Sophomore Kelsie Clegg (Boise, Idaho) added four blocks and three kills for VCU, while junior Ivana Rich (Cumberland, Va.) recorded five kills and two blocks. Sophomore Jessica Ojukwu (Sao Paulo, Brazil) chipped in with three blocks for the Black and Gold, which registered seven in the match.

Jeanne Fairchild booked 13 kills to lead New Mexico (22-7). The Lobos hit .338 and logged eight blocks on the night.
