Virginia Commonwealth University Men’s Basketball Coach Anthony Grant will host his 2008 Coaching Clinic Oct. 24-25 in Richmond, Va., along with special guest, former NBA player and coach John Lucas.

The clinic will focus on: The VCU up-tempo style, 3-point shooting, the press, game preparation, strength and conditioning, as well as many other areas.

Grant, the 2007 Colonial Athletic Association Coach of the Year, has led VCU to 52 victories in the last two seasons. His 2006-07 team captured the CAA regular season and tournament crowns and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament. In 2007-08, his Rams captured the CAA regular season title and earned an NIT berth.

Lucas, the No. 1 overall pick by the Houston Rockets in the 1976 NBA Draft, played 14 seasons in the league (1976-90) and later coached the San Antonio Spurs, Phladelphia 76ers and Cleveland Cavaliers.
