HARRIS’ GOAL CAN’T TAME TIGERS; #18 RAMS FALL 5-1...
10/26/07
PRINCETON, N.J. – Senior Jenna Harris (Aurora, Colo./Smoky Creek) scored her team-leading eighth goal, but Virginia Commonwealth University dropped a 5-1 decision to 18th-ranked Princeton Friday in non-conference action.
VCU slides to 5-12 with the loss, while Princeton raises its mark to 11-4 overall.
Harris, who leads the Rams with 19 points, knocked a feed from freshman Flore van Dessel Oisterwijk, The Netherlands/Odulphus Lyceum) inside the left post from eight yards away 41:32 into the match. The goal, Harris’ 15th of her career, cut the Tigers’ lead to 2-1 at the time. Van Dessel has five assists this season.
But VCU would get no closer. Back-to-back Princeton goals in a four-minute, thirty second span midway through the second half clinched the victory for the Tigers.
The Rams conclude their season on Sunday, when they head to Boston, Mass. to meet CAA-rival Northeastern at 2 p.m. |
