WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Senior Laura Baker (Kent, England) recorded four saves in goal for Virginia Commonwealth University, but a pair of second half scores lifted William & Mary past the Rams, 2-0, Friday night.
VCU slips to 4-12 overall and 0-6 in the Colonial Athletic Association with the loss. William & Mary is 6-10 overall, including 4-2 in league action.
Kelsey Jackson’s breakaway goal in the 50th minute snapped a scoreless tie for the Tribe. Jenna Cinalli added her sixth goal of the season a short time later.
The Tribe outshot VCU, 10-6. The Rams had five penalty corners, two more than William & Mary, but were unable to produce a goal.
VCU returns to action on Sunday, Oct. 26 when it heads to Norfolk, Va. to meet rival Old Dominion at 1 p.m. |
