EPPLEY EARNS LATE-SEASON PROMOTION TO CLASS-A CLINTON
Recently graduated Ram adds depth to LumberKings playoff roster

CLINTON, Iowa – It’s been just over three months since former Virginia Commonwealth University baseball standout Cody Eppley (Dillsburg, Pa.) tossed his last pitch for the Black and Gold, but his baseball career appears far from over as the former Ram was promoted to Class-A Clinton, a member of the Midwest League.

Eppley had a outstanding showing in the Arizona League as he compiled a 2-2 record out of the bullpen for the Rangers with a 2.10 ERA in 25.2 innings pitched.

Although he was primarily a starter for the Rams, the Rangers wanted to keep his inning count low so they moved him to a late-game role where excelled allowing just 19 hits and five walks, while posting 34 strikeouts on his way to seven saves with the AZL Rangers.

In his two outings thus far for the LumberKings, he has allowed two hits and two runs in two innings of work.

He will be a vital part of the Clinton bullpen when they open up the 2008 Midwest League Playoffs against the Cedar Rapid Kernels tonight at 7:30 p.m. EST.
